Joshua Dudley is the 9-year old son of John Birchill who recently suffered horrific injuries following a bicycle accident on 23rd April 2011.

Joshua was dead at the scene of the accident but was revived and subsequently air-lifted to Birmingham Children’s Hospital where he was stabilised on life support but remained in a life threatening condition for the first 8 days.

Joshua subsequently remained in a ‘natural’ coma for 73 days.

Upon waking from his coma it became apparent that Joshua had suffered multiple severe mental and physical disabilities.

As such he was subsequently seen, assessed and approved for funding to ‘The Children’s Trust’ in Tadworth, Surrey. This is the UK’s leading rehabilitation centre for paediatric acquired brain injuries.

Despite professionals saying he would make little or no progress in his first year, Joshua has, so far, defied all odds and is making phenomenal progress.

However despite this, Walsall Primary Care Trust have denied further funding for Joshua for the extra three months that The Children’s Trust state he needs to be a ‘normal’ active independent boy living a ‘normal’ life.

We therefore need YOUR help to raise the £67,000 it will take to keep Joshua at Tadworth and transform him into the boy he once was.
